Distribution: western areas of Zhejiang Province, southern Anhui Province and surrounding areasBlack Muntjae
The body length of the Black Muntjac is 98-113cm, with a 18-24cm tail; weight ranges from 21 to 28.5kg. They live in subtropical, broad-leaf forests in mountainous areas at an altitude of 1,000 meters or more. They feed mainly on bushes and tender twigs, but grass, fern, mushroom and fruits are also consumed. The normal lifespan is 10-11 years.
