Cinereous Vultures are 100cm long and they live in plateau and mountainous regions at an altitude of 2,000- 4,500 meters. They are good flyers and have a sharp sense of smell and good eyesight. They often fly high in the sky to search for food. In small groups, or together with Himalayan Griffons, they peck the corpse laid out on the ground. Occasionally, they also attack animals.
They receive second grade national protection.
