Green Peafowl


Green Peafowls are 1 t0-240cm long. They usually dwell in the forest, bushes and bamboo forests below an altitude of t,500 meters. They especially prefer to live in open areas of the forest near rivers. One mate and several females form a group and search for food together. Wild fruits, grains, sprouts and seedlings are their main diet, but they also eat insects and small animals. They breed from May to August. During this period, the males raise and spread their beautiful tails.



They receive first grade national Protection.
