Distribution: southeastern areas of Tibet and southwestern areas of China's Yunuan Province, northern Myanmar and India's Assam.
The body length of the Red Goral is 93-103cm, with a 10-12cm tail. Weighing 20-30kg, they live in mountain forests and steep rocky hills at an altitude of 2,000-4,500 meters. Grass, lichen, beard moss and tender jungle leaves are their favorite food. They are good jumpers and excel in walking on steep cliffs. The normal lifespan is about 15 years.
Red Gorals are rare and receive first grade national protection.
