
The body length of the Bharal is 108-140cm, with a 13-20cm tail; weight ranges from 45 to 74kg. They live gregariously in the rocky grasslands of mountains and valleys at an altitude of 3,000-6,000 meters, living off greminaceous plants, grass and lichen. The normal lifespan is 24 years.
They are listed as second grade nationally protected animals in China.
