Distribution: China's Sichuan, Gansu and Shaanxi provinces.
The body length of the Giant Panda is 1.5-1.8m, with 12 14cm tail; they weigh 80-125kg. Their habitat is ban boo forests in high mountains at an altitude of 2,000-3,50 meters. The Giant Panda is a solitary animal and lives with others only during the mating and nursing period. Bamboo leaves, bamboo poles and bamboo shoots arc their favorite food. It has sharp sense of smell, but its eyesight is poor. is good climber and swimmer. The normal lifespan is about 30 years.
The existing number of Giant Pandas is about 1,000. They are exclusively found in China and listed as first grace nationally protected animals in China.
