Distribution: China's Tibetan Plateau
The body length of the Kiang is 200-220cm, with a 43-49cm tail; weight ranges from 200 to 270kg. They live in the Gobi Desert and hilly areas of the Tibetan Plateau. They are gregarious animals and excel at running. In the daytime, they roam on the grasslands to search for grass and wild vegetables. The normal lifespan ranges from 25 to 30 years.
Native to China, they are listed as first grade nationally protected animals.
