Tufted Deer (Mammals)
Distribution:China's Qinling Mountain Range and areas south of theYangtze River
The body length of the Tufted Deer is 82-119cm, with a 8-13cm tail; weight ranges from 15 to 28kg. They dwell in the subtropical mountainous forests in pairs. They feed on grass and tender tree twigs. Mushrooms and fruits are their favorite food. The males have sharp canines. The normal lifespan is nine years.
They are native toChinaand listed as second grade nationally protected animals.
