Distribution: southern areas of China's Yunnan Province, South Asia and Southeast Asia.
The body length of the Asiatic Elephant is 550 640cm, with a 120-150cm tail. Weighing 5,000kg, they are the largest mammals living on the continent and only the ales have ivories. The Asiatic Elephant lives in tropical an subtropical forests, jungles and grasslands. Each grout consists of several up to several dozen elephants. The like water and can stay in the rivers or ponds for several hours when it is hot. They feed on grass, leaves, bamboo leaves and wild fruits. The normal lifespan ranges from 70 to 80 years. Their trunks are so nimble that they can pick up needles and remove a screw.
